what is more important to study while learning to play bass. I have been playing for 2 years now and want to know what I should have learned at this point. I really don't think I know a lot and I want to know more, it's just that I want to know what's important at my stage and not get overwhelmed with trying to learn something I really don't need right now.

Songs. many young players I hear are greatly hindered by not actually knowing any songs. Knowing songs is the whole deal. Best of luck to you.
