Mark King, playing and singing.
A life-changing moment, the day I tuned the E down to D and finally figured out how that was played.

Risking ridicule that I am willing to take, I firmly state:

Night Court, duh.

Night Court, all the way.

It was probably the first slap line I ever learned, and one of the first songs that I transcribed from ear.

In no particular order:

What was I Thinking? - 311
Shaft - Incubus
You Will Be A Hot Dancer - Incubus
A Certain Shade of Green - Incubus (verse rift)
... I guess I really just LOVE Dirk and P-Nut's work. 'Nuff said.

+1 to Take the Power Back

I'll probably catch some flak for mentioning these, but I love the slap sections in Aeroplane and Claypool's rendition of The Awakening.

I'll join you then on Aeroplane, one of the most masterful slap lines there is in my opinion. I'll also add another Chili Peppers track; Stone Cold Bush.

Funny thing is I don't particularly like Flea or emulate his style much, but these two songs are absolute pinnacles of slap bass achievement in my eyes.
