Whatever Happened To- -#1: Mike Richmond?

Just got to thinking about some old ECM albums by drummer/pianist Jack DeJohnette.

On a few of them, he had an excellent bassist in Mike Richmond playing. After that, I know Mike was involved in the Mingus Dynasty for a bit.

I've been wondering whateve became of him since then. Anyone know?

He's still making gigs around NYC and the area; the last time I personally saw him was about 10 years ago. I helped him carry some **** to his car after a gig, he's a pretty nice cat.

He wrote an excellent book on building walking bass lines.

Hi, I'm taking lessons from him. He teaches at NYU and Mason Gross. Still busy as heck, and getting mad gigs doing the same thing on cello that he does on the bass (he also tunes it like the bass)
