So many people write about the best bass for metal, which comes up about once a week on here. Anyway, what do you think is the most common bass used by metal bassists? Answer either for the whole genre or one specific genre of metal. Im going go with MusicMan's for modern hard rock/metal (ie.: Disturbed, Shinedown, Avenged Sevenfold) and Warwicks for harder stuff (Mudvayne) Of course there are exceptions, but i just thought it would be interesting to find out.

in Shadows fall/Killswitch the Ibanez SRX series is pretty common.
stingrays are also pretty common in the heavier deathcore type stuff like All Shall perish, Parway drive type stuff. |

ibanez seem to be quite common as to warwicks though

Alright, if I had to answer the question I would suggest something long scale, 35" or more, to deal with low tunings. There.

I love the feel of my BXP so I'm thinking that the American will be very similar (considering the 4 vs 5 strings of course). I'm borrowing an Ibanez now and I love the sound, just not the feel. Which Ibanez has the thinest neck?

Great ballsy tone. Spector's just seem to cut and provide a great low end crunch in a heavy metal/hard rock setting.
