Hi,

who is this guy?

check my music here:

http://www.myspace.com/brunocoelhobass

Just want to introduce myself. My name is Bruno Coelho, I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1972. Started playing acoustic guitar when I was 11 and righ after moved to bass. Interesting history on how it happened: I was going to play Peter Frampton's breaking all the rules on electric guitar and since I didn't know how to tune, I broke the B and High E strings!!! Someone else came to me and said "ok, you should play the theme and then just the root notes now". Another band at school was watching and asked me if I wanted to be the bass player.

Well, several years later and with a LOT of story in the middle, here I am. I am now living in the USA since 2001. I have a 9-5 job. I don't have much time to play anymore...

Last year I decided to start playing again. It will be a SLOW process, but I will start posting the result on my myspace page.

For now, I posted a song called playground. It started with me playing with a loop pedal. The song has 4 bass tracks: A slap base in the center, a theme and some tapping to the left, only tapping to the right and a track with distortion in the "chorus". All tracks were recorded with the same bass, a Fodera VW classic.

I have some tunes I am working on, but as I said, this will be a very slow process, since I have a 9-5. Also, most of my time after 5 I have to do physical therapy to improve my shoulder (I suffered a level 3 acromio-clavicular separation - basically my left shoulder ligaments are gone).

Well, I hope you like this first recording, Once I have more stuff done I will post here.

Fell free to make comments or shoot me questions if you want.

Thanks,
Bruno Coelho.

Included some "old" recordings (circa '94) and a rehearsal recording from last week.
