Who has the tightest rhythm section?

Ok, ok...let's not get all anal about how a rhythm section is defined, but curious to know other readers thoughts on which drummer and bassist lock in like you wouldn't believe.

I say you can't look much further than Tomas Haake and Dick Lovgren. Tighter than a gnats chuff.

Aston & Carlton Barrett. The intricacies and little details of their timing are simply mind-boggling.

Can we get all anal about how "tight" is defined?

RHCP ain't bad...Love when they groove between songs.

Can't go wrong with TOP either.

There was a guy named James Brown who had a band that was somewhat in the pocket..

Don't know why, but when i think about THE rythm section the first names that pop in my head are Phil Rudd and Cliff Williams.

There can be no single tightest. There are many, many great rhythm sections out there....

Although 99% of you Victor Wooden fans are going to disagree with me. I would have to say The Ramones especially later on because they all played RHYTHM.

Mike Clarke & Paul Jackson

...part of the "tightness" equation/factor for me means both players are able to go 'outside' what the other is laying down; the other player hears & knows that...which may mean the kick & bass are not locked in the traditional sense.
