Jason Newsted when he was playing with Sadowsky basses in Metallica. Robert DeLeo when he was using EMG pickups. Jack Casady with his signature bass.

#1 favorite of all time is Duff McKagan's, and I've emulated that to about 95%. Of course a Jazz Special with Rotosounds, yellow Dunlop tortex picks and a GK 700rb-ii > GK 410RBH doesn't hurt. And honestly, i rarely use chorus.

#2 is Brian Marshall of Creed. Wicked punchy and articulate, yet really 'bassy' and resonant- and not muddy. Trying REALLY hard to get that tone and make it cut like Brian does. I think I need a Sadowsky into a Ashdown though

Aren't Into the Lens and I Am a Camera the same song?

That may be the best tone I've heard in a song. It's incredible.

Eric Wilson on Badfish. I'm not really a Sublime fan, but I love the tone on that song.

Even though I think he's a pretty despicable person, Nick Oliveri has a pretty awesome sound too.

Yeah they're probably the same song, in the way he's using them. "I am a Camera" is just another rendition of "Into the Lens" performed by The Buggles, I think. But it's not on Drama, it's not performed by Yes, and I doubt the dude knew about it.

And yeah, that's a pretty beastly tone I'm a huge Squire fan.

Adam Clayton on 'Beautiful Day'. That tone changed my life, and was what encouraged me to dig deeper into U2, who are now my favourite band.

I'm hoping when my new Roscoe's arrive that I will have my favorite bass tone.
