Who IS this man!?

This is some of the best playing I've ever seen. So groovey, I can't dare to think you on he'd be with a drummer.

The name Thurman "Peanut" Woods means nothing to me, and I did a Talkbass search to no avail.

If anyone knows about him, who he's played for etc. I'd be grateful.

I need more!

Doesn't sound musical to me, Sounds like the soundtrack to Metroid.

I can appreciate the fast runs and all, but blah. It's boring to me.

Yeah i can see why you say it sounds like Metroid. He actually plays Jaco Pastorius's Teen Town after the camera guy says something about "playin' a lil jazz". It's good ****. But the fact that he plays it so fast makes it sound a little like videogame music. Hehe. Still, the man can play. :S

I'm very familiar with Teen Town and have heard it played by many people.

I've never heard it groove like that before ever (no offense to Jaco).

He doesn't play it any faster than the intended speed.

If you look at his other videos, I think it seems as if he's a serious pocket player with serious chops. The reason he chooses to do the technique thing in these videos is because he's playing by himself...on youtube.

His other videos are pretty good.

I was going to say he's not too far off from a lot of gospel musicians. The gospel genre is unique and very different from what a lot of us listen to.

I think with some formal theory training, he could be the next Andrew Gouche. And he might have it, I can't tell. I know he can play, but he needs to know why he's playing it.

Still a great player with above average chops and a ton of potential.

Excellent player but I didn't see/hear anything extraordinary, I've seen the same or better from other players who like this style, personally ain't my cup-o-tea.

I'll take a Geezer or Geddy jam over this every time..
