Who played for Alanis Morissette?

I was listening to the radio the other day and the song "You Oughta Know" came on. Whoever does the bass on it is really getting his groove on. I might just have to look up the tab, because there were some tasty lines. I've always like Alanis Morissette (kind of a guilty pleasure... Micheal Jackson too...), but noticed the bass on that song for the first time. Who the heck is playing bass?

Songs that you never realized had good basslines...

Just posted this yesterday afternoon:

Quote:
"Alanis' "You Oughta Know". Always dug the whole album, but never picked up on the bass part in that until a friend pointed out that Flea did it. It's amazing how much Flea can put into playing 1 note in the intro."

FWIW and if I'm not mistaken, on the original release of Jagged Little Pill there's a bonus track of "You Oughta Know" but with a different mix and an alternate bass track. I'm not sure if it's another take by Flea or if it's a demo line some other bassist put down. It's definitely not as magical as the one that made the single but it's an interesting listen if you want to hear another approach.

The rest of that album (Jaged little pill) was Lance Morisette, later albums were Chris Chaney (With various other players.....Tim Thorney, Flea, Meshell Ndegeocello, Eric Avery, Chris Bruce, Paul Bushnell, Peter Freeman.....

I'm just wondering if Pino Palladino played the bass on "You owe me nothing in return"...but it was Meshell Ndegeocello...
