I heard somewhere he spent 10 years in the army as tuba player and didn't pick up a bass guitar until he was about 30 ??
That blue jazz bass played of tons of hit singles in the 70s, as well as his more famous work with Bowie, Bolan, Reed etc. Think he's still playing, although Dee Murray sadly died a long time ago. |

Dee sang on stuff on "Madman Across The Waters", but only played bass on one song, "All The Nasties". I don't think he played on any songs on "Tumbleweed Connection", and know he didn't appear at all on "Elton John". "Honky Château" is the first studio album that has the band ( Dee, Nigel, and Davey) on it.
