Who played on Billy Preston's Nothing For Nothing?

I've tried searching around and can't find the answer. I heard Nothing For Nothing on the radio the other day and really got into the bass groove and tone. I was wonder who recorded it and what else they recorded on.

Bobby Watson. That took Google about 0.3 seconds.

Well, yeah...you're good.

Bobby Watson is a very capable player...the Rufus stuff is top-notch as is his lone track on Off The Wall.

Which leads me to a Louis Johnson connection-
I vaguely recall seeing the Louis & George, on TV, in Billy Preston's backing band.
Then Hoov provides Bobby Watson as the bassist on "Nothing From Nothing"...both played on Off The Wall...Johnson played on Rufus' "Tonight We Love" (from Party 'til You're Broke)...and I vividly recall seeing Rufus playing that tune on the tube with Bobby Watson faking Louis Johnson slap/pop part...very, very badly.

I googled Billy Preston and looked around google for a while and couldn't find it. Even put in "who played bass on nothing" and didn't find it. What did you search for?

billy preston...man, i am so fortunate that i got to meet him and watch him play on one of bowzer's shows at the mohegan sun. it was the second to last show he ever did. absolute greatness. he had to be wheeled around, but when he got behind that organ, it was amazing.

Sorry I got the title wrong, but remember I wasn't born when the song came out, but I really dig it. That should count for something!

Preston stole the show in The Concert For Bangla Desh.

...heard Preston's "Will It Go Round In Circles" this morning on the drive-in.

Another nice part...Louis Johnson?
