Who plays bass on Cee-Lo Green's song "F*** You"?

I heard this song on the radio and was really attracted to the motown-style kind of bass playing so I got home and looked the album up on Wikipedia to check the Personnel list.

I was scanning the list and I saw Pino Palladino, but I also saw a few other names who had also played bass on some tracks on the album.

Does anyone know if in fact it was Pino laying down the killer groove on this track? It certainly sounds like it could be him but I'm not 100% sure.

I have no idea, but that entire album is pretty hot.

The bass part in the bridge of F--- You is just great.

My band covers that song, and it goes over really well every time. I love hearing the crowd sing along.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was Pino, it does sound like him in the bridge, but overall "F You" is just an awesome song regardless!

Great song, how to do Motown style right in this era!

I usually hate hearing 'the F curse' is songs because it never sounds natural or believable, but here it's just plain hilarious. I have a lot of respect for Cee-Lo, he's the real thing.

Sounds like it could be Pino but I couldn't say for sure, either.

You might want to check out the Dap-Kings, great bass, less busy than old Motown but it always sounds great in the context of their recordings. Fat and sexy.

+1 Great song regardless of the curse word. Whoever played bass definitely nailed it. It's one of the current pop songs I really dig.

He opened for Prince @ MSG on Monday. During this song the teleprompters read "NO F WORD"!

Cee-Lo's bp at the show was a tall gal playing an SG-style.

Excellent! Thanks for both links. Interesting career bio, she's definitely paid her dues.

I love that song! I suspected it was Pino playing, he's always been great at copping that Jamerson vibe.

You should listen to the rest of the album, with the exception of "bright lights bigger city," it's basically all updated motown-style hits. There are some really hot tracks, like these 4 in a row:

satisfied

i want you

cry baby

fool for you

Not to mention this awesome cover of Band of Horses' "No One's Gonna Love You."

That chart is great. I'm playing this song on Friday at a "Valentines" show with a local band and I used it to learn the bridge. We're playing it in B instead of C so I dropped it down a half step. The second fill is a little more difficult, but still sounds great.

I realize that the magic of the studio can do a lot for a musician, but I would be really surprised if she's the one on the track. She just doesn't sound near as smooth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...IJM6hI0#t=163s, she does put on a helluva show though.

Having an all-female band is definitely in line with being a lady-killer.

The Lady Killer is probably my favorite "pop" album of the past 15 years... I grew up loving old Motown hits and it seems like Cee-Lo and his band do a great job of copping that vibe.
