I am a fam of rocco, What is hip is the tune I`ve learned more off, learn it and then you can play solid rock and funk, those straight 16ts are a really good practise. I also have learnt some of his tunes of the fingertule funk video.
As rocco doesn`t slap I want you to guess similar to whom he would sound..
I would love to listen to a bassist slapping comparable with the thightness and taste of rocco, one with perfect timing, solid groove, tecknical but not flashy, always in the context of the song |

Parhaps a bassist with a supportive role as Louis Johnson, Mark king is also very funky and technical-are better choices |

| | | | Or Stuart Zender in basslines like travelling without moving.. solid, technical, funky, in 16th, and agressive |

Vega substuted for Rocco with Tower of Power while Rocco was recovering from his liver replacement sugery. Rochon Westmoreland is an extraordinarily adroit bassist! You can hear him with Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns. |

He always impressed me with the way he can sing and play the bass line.
In this example, a synth also plays the bass line - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roXIfZFhGVk | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
