As for solo albums, Bryan Beller - "View". Three tracks ("Bear Divide", "No", and a cover of Patitucci's "Backwoods") are unaccompanied solo bass pieces.

He did play in two side projects thouhg (two albums with Platypus, one with Jelly jam, and he played bass on some other albums like Raising the mammoth which wasn't really HIS project), but no real solo stuff yet....

Oh yeah, thinking of you, Brian Bromberg, an upright player, has an album called 'wood' it's mostly unaccompanied upright bass, and it's really good.
