Hands down, Rush, Favorite song is a lot tougher, but La Villa Strangiato or the whole Hemispheres set "Cygnus X-1 Book II Hemispheres" A 18 minute, plus, masterpiece of music. http://popup.lala.com/popup/432627043563648212
Same CD so...maybe I should say most of the recording?
I like a lot of vastly different stuff and discover new jems on this site all the time (Like Maceo Parker) but since I first heard Rush when I was maybe 14, they have been the Top Snow Dog! (sorry....)

As for the classics, I will always love and adore:
Tom Petty - "The Waiting", "Runnin' Down a Dream", "Free Fallin"
James Taylor - "Frozen Man", "Copperline", "Carolina In My Mind"
And my current fave bassist has got to be Pino, his whole performance on John Mayer's Where The Light Is DVD absolutely slays. And his playing and tone on the Battle Studies track "Assassin" might be good enough to declare him the winner of bass.
