I like that guy that always seems to be playing in every string shop I've ever been in. It's the same guy, right?

Seriously, Larry G. for me too.

Aram, your original posting was a bad combination, like sardines and chocolate milk or babies and sex toys. Plus, Basses isn't the proper forum for either topic.

I've edited it so it is appropriate for the Bassists forum and am moving it there. If you'd like to publicize your recordings, that should be a separate thread in the appropriate forms.

Yeah I love Wooten, I have seen him play many times and met him quite a few. The difference for me is that I can listen to Marcus every day and I can't do that with Wooten. For me there is just something incredibly soulful about Marcus that is rare among most slappers. Vail Johnson is the one of the only other ones that I get that from. Ooozing with soul (as well as flash, etc). You know?

Marcus Miller.

The man has such a killer groove, it's really beautiful.

Vic Wooten in his own right though is a monster. Literally. The guy does things that are only attainable through ritual sacrifice and drinking the blood of thought-to-be extinct creatures.

I really like the way Flea uses his slapping technique to support the song as opposed to being the main focal point.
Lately as people become more and more obsessed with speed and slapping it's kind of surprised me to hear how solid and basic Flea is starting to sound in comparison to some of the absolute overkill going on now.
Especially compared to that jerk in every music store you go to!
