Was Jaco a singer? That's what this thread is about...bassist/singers.

While I am a rocker, I agree this young lady just bowls me over too. So +2

Agreed on Sting, Macca, Lake, Wetton, Jimmy Dewar. Great voices all.

I'd also throw in Fred Turner of Bachman-Turner Overdrive--proof he can still bring it:

Sir Paul, Geddy Lee and Sting are my obvious 1st choices. Some names that others have mentioned are also very good:
Phil Lynot
Peter Cetera - his later stuff was fluff, but some of that early Chicago stuff was really, really cool, and his voice was amazing.
Gene Simmons - havn't thought about him much until i switched over to bass. He's good.
Roger Waters - enough said.

Are we talking bassist/LEAD singers?

Mark King
Paul McCartney
Sting
Geddy
Lemmy
Esperanza
Johnette Napolitano

and Tal Wilkenfeld - when I saw her show recently, she sang all new songs - not sure when those songs will be on a studio release - but damn - she was great.

Couldn't agree more! Probably the best bassist/frontman combination going. (To the point that it's remarkable how many non-musicians don't realise he's a bassist...)
