Leon F. Sylvers III and Leon F. Sylvers IV both are playing bass on various tracks on that cd. It's Leon F. Sylvers IV on the track Can't hardly wait?

And yes the bass line is killing.

Oh, you've heard Leon Sylvers bass and production work! All the Shalimar, Dynasty and Whispers hits from the early 80's on the Solar label were all Leon Sylvers! Leon and his little brother, Foster did most of the bass work back then! Using Ricks & picks no less! I'm guessing LSIV is Leon III's son? Dude is nice! It's in his blood I guess. Leon was nasty as h&!! back in the day! I'd love to hear how Leon handles a 5 string. I'm surprised he didn't do the side man thing when the production thing slowed down! He woulda killed!

Who's playing on Can't Change Me?

I know I heard him, just not OF him. Excellent groover I must say. Ricks and Mockingbirds are quite the unsung hero's in rnb bass.

producers who are bassplayers..thats a very serious thread idea..

I just played with N'dambi a couple of weeks ago in Chicago, the whole record is killing bass-wise. She is very focused and knows her music, funny thing was at rehearsal I threw in a couple of slap and pop's on one tune and she whispered in my ear "please no punching (slapping)think Pino and James Jameson". Here's a pic with the band
