He has already got some strong credits to his name, having just played on John Mclaughlin's "Industrial Zen" album alongside Matt Garrison of all people!
He's also a very genuine, cool person. I've talked to him on TB over PM, and it seems we're both a couple of young fusion lovers! |

Also Tony Grey, have a listen to his work with Hiromi. He also has an excellent album out.
Obviously Matt Garrison, superb talent.
Matt and Tony Grey both also feature on the McLauglin album mention by Chris.

| | C'mon man! | | Join Date: Dec 1999 Location: Hawaii | | | Lately for me it's been, Janek Gwizdala, Tony Grey and Steve Jenkins. I've bought their solo albums and have been very impressed. They are not just chops albums, I've dug the writing on them, especially Janek's! I love what I heard from Hadrien Feraud too, and can't wait for a solo debut.
Of course I love Richard Bona and Matt Garrison, but their names have been here for awhile.

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't start hearing about Tyler Elmond here in the next couple years. He's a 4th year here at Humber, and, IIRC, the best bassist in the school. From what I've heard, he was the best in his year consistently through all 4 years of school. Siiiiiick player, really nice guy too.

Even without comparing him to his father, I don't rate him! |

Even without comparing him to his father, I don't rate him! | There's a bunch of vids of him on YouTube, and he nails his father's tone, phrasing and note choices, as well as a nice line in Marcus-style slapping. Most of what I've heard him do is either covers of his old man's stuff, which, as expected, he does well, I would just like to hear him do his own thing where he's not under expecations to sound like his dad. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
