Hi guys

I listen to Phil Collins' song "Behind The Lines" (written by P. Collins, T. Banks & M. Rutherford) that one on his solo album "Face Value".

Who's playing bass in that song?

Alphonso Johnson?
John Giblin?
Both?

Read in the album credit title, both are. But I think it's one person bass playing.

I'm not too familiar with both player's style.

good question....

if i had to guess,(and i do),i would say alfonso. it seems to sound more like what i would associate with him than giblin. (whom i've only heard play fretless in a style different to this)

That's a GREAT rendition of that song, totally different from the original. If you never heard the original version, check out Genesis's "Duke" album to compare.

I heard the Genesis version beffore this Face Value version.
I like it too. That old version very influencing me esp in the vocal line.
(I keep singing the Genesis version's melody/vocal line when listening to the Face Value version haha).
But bassline & groove wise, this Face Value version is very interesting for me.
