For me its Dusty Hill and ZZ top, at the age of ten. It was probably the first time I ever really noticed the bass. Wondering if anyone else can remember the first time a bass tone struck them. |

Opening bars to Higher Ground. I went to my music teacher and asked her to tell me what instrument it was, and then to start teaching me. |

There were others that sparked my interest in bass playing. Rob Wright, Jamerson, Colin Moulding, Bruce Thomas, Norman Watt Roy to name a few. But I was destined to play bass after hearing JPJ.. |

At the time, I was listening to Chicago a lot, so I guess Peter Cetera's lines were the first bass influence. Listened to Chris Squire a lot at the time, too. And Entwistle. Not too much later, I started listening to a lot of fusion, so then it was all Jaco & Stanley. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
