I've used both Jason DePope and Jesse Kessler in the past. Both hail from NNJ, but I'm flying solo at the moment.

I've never had lessons, I learnt everything I know either from the Tb forums or from friends/watching other bassists. I had piano and violin lessons for years though.

Jeff Berlin.

Just kidding, I teach his kids piano and he refuses to teach me bass because he wants me to study piano (my primary instrument).

But he hasn't even heard me play bass yet!

Nigel Waye was my bass teacher. He was bar-none the best musician i've ever met/played with, he taught me so much about music. Sadly, he passed away a little over a year ago. R.I.P

Steve Kim. He's been around the Seattle area for a long time and is a fantastic teacher.

I've also taken lessons from Todd Johnson and Norm Stockton. Both masters of their instruments, great teachers and overall awesome people.

The only teacher I had was named John Hinckley. I only took lessons from him for about six months, but he was one of the nicest people I've ever know.

Never mentioned Jodie Foster to me, so I assumed he was a different John Hinckley

John Toedtman, fun guy to talk to and a fantastic teacher. Graduated from the Peabody Conservatory. First teacher that's ever been able to really explain walking bass lines to me. If you're in the Cinci/Dayton area of Ohio, and need a teacher, look him up.
