Gene Simmons started it for me. The guy's a great rock and roll bass player, no matter what you think of his attitude.

On the other hand, Entwistle is probably my second favorite.

Then Macca.

Then Robert DeLeo.

Wait, that's more than one....

Ryan Martine. Made me look at playing bass in a heavy genre in a completely different way

Can't name just one....

JacoJohnTaylorFleaLarryGrahamBoostyJJamersonGeddyL eeMikeWattBruceFoxtonMarkKingLouisJohnson

Ok, kidding aside, I picked up the bass because of the bass line from the song 'Rio'. I thought it would get me chicks. Boy, was I wrong. LOL

My favorite, for today, is Sting. Making melodic, memorable bass lines with the least amount of notes.

Oh, and can't forget Oscar Stagnaro - my instructor at Berklee.

Numerous. Jamerson and Duck Dunn inspire me. My instructor Baba Elefante is great. Larry Graham scares me.

So, so many... Where to start?

Well, it's toss up between Jimmy Johnson and Anthony Jackson. But Lee Sklar, Pino Palladino, and Will Lee are all pretty close behind.

I think Jimmy Johnson wins out, though.

Chris Wolstenholme of Muse. Every line he plays is badass, and I would kill for his tone.
