Talking Who's Your Favorite Bassist Thread?!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey! I'm new to the forum and it's good to see that there's a lot of other fellow bass guitarists out there. I've been a bass player for awhile now it's been on and off honestly, but at the age of 24 I kept at it and never stopped at all. I'm now a bassist for 4 different projects. Playing bass has become my p primary source of writing music and etc after playing keyboards. I love the simplicity of bashing one note at a time and then getting creative by using chords on the 20 something frets in the bottom and stuff like that.

Other than that I also run a blog http://bass-guitar-center-blog.blogspot.com/ (if you want to see it). I started very recently because it's always good to write about something you love. So feel free to go by and comment on any of the articles I have posted up there. I'm thinking about posting stuff from free tips to etc.

Anyways, I want to post about your favorite bassist! I'm going to say my favorite are:

1) Les Claypool

2) Victor Wooten

3) Christopher Wolstenholme

4) Larry Graham

5) Justin Chancellor (I just like his style)

Whats yours!? (I'm sorry I know this was probably done a few times, but I figured it would be a fun thread!)

-Damian C.

We have a whole forum for this called "bassists".

BTW, I think the link in your signature may be a contravention of TB rules regarding advertising.

Hey, can't blame you for trying to advertise your business, although I think you might be contravening the rules here at TB, but at least pony up to become a supporting member!

If you fill out your profile (something other than 'male') then as you browse and respond to posts (hopefully something encouraging or positive) and folks want to know who you are, perhaps just to gauge your aptitude, they can look there. You may find some who might send you a private message(pm) and ask you about subjects you're known to be an expert on.

and to answer your question...Fran Sheehan was probably one of my 1st influences.
