Why it's better to own only one bass

When your strings all go dead at the same time, it can cost you over $100 to change them. Seeing as how I have a rare Friday and Saturday off, I thought I would go through my basses and re-tweak them just to make sure everything's shipshape. 5 sets of strings later, I'm done. And I'm broke! Oh well, I shouldn't complain...I use D'addario XL 2-packs, which makes it $12.50 per set except for the 5, which is like $17. And considering I spent over $400 in upright strings last year for one bass, I guess it's not too horrible.

12.50 per set is awesome, the music store ere makes you buy two when you buy em, last time i got some, i didn';t leave without spending $65 on strings. D'Addario XL Chromes.

You are correct. I meant to put it in Strings. Oh well...

Upright strings can go for as little as $20 or as much as $500. When I first got an upright 2 years ago, I went through some experimentation with strings, and grand total was over $400. Now I use a set that costs $90.
