Sign in to disble this ad
So it's one day into NAMM and Victor Wooten stopped by and records me playing. WHAT!?!? Definitely a high point in my bass playing career!

Check out the video!

He'd probably just never heard that song before.

Very cool! If I were you, I would have stopped, and video'd him videoing me!

That is the Hot-Hand wireless wah There are other threads about Source Audio on Talkbass that can tell you more. It is not my intention for this thread to be a plug.

Yeah and the ring matched his recorder. But that is pretty cool. Did you get a chance to
talk with him, he's a pretty down to earth kind of guy.

I bet Pete Wentz would have recorded you better.

Just saying.

That wasn't Victor Wooten. That was Bill Smith, vice president of Ace Carpets, a company specializing in installing carpets in large exhibition halls and convention centers. He wanted to get a good shot of the carpet.
(Sorry... I'll pay for that.)
But seriously, that's fantastic. Save that video clip for posterity.

Wow!!

If I`d been in your place, I wouldn`t have been able to play a single note.

Reminds me when I was at the Fodera booth at Bass Player 2000 and Anthony Jackson was sitting in front of me (fortunately I was wearing headphones and he wasn`t watching )

I was shaking...tough to play harmonics when my fingers won't stay in place! NAMM is freakin' nuts. This is my first time and I thought I was going to pass out yesterday. I got to jam out with Carl Harvey of Toots and the Maytals at the end of the day too! That's all in the first day.

I'm about to head in for day 2...The Hilton is mobbed with musicians and "industry" types. It's quite a scene.

It's a struggle to figure out how to present myself as a player at our booth since everyone around me is slapping their brains out. How do you stand out in the midst of so much noise?

Don't forget to be extra nice, you don't want to end up on the mean bassplayers thread.
