Anyone dig these guys?
IMO, his playing is the best in a harcdore punk band in years. His lines are so perfect and melodious, yet push the guitars to the limits (and does it with killer tone, I dunno what he plays, sounds like a Stingray though?).
Check out their myspace if you haven't heard them, and whilst I like their older discs as well, pick up 'Career Suicide' for some sweet, sweet, bass playing.

| | | | most definitely a stingray. unmistakable tone. Saw them live a while back. The guitar player played with a broken arm and kept up quite well. |

If you like good punk bassist, their new bassist doesn't disappoint.

Brian's a really nice guy, and a killer player live. I might take some footage when they come back to play at a club on Thursday night (won't be as good), arthouse was too full on for that stuff.

| | | | Hes fantastic, and like was said earlier even though his playing is very powerful it also isn't to overpowering on the rest of the band and plays with the melody well. Great band, great bass, great guitar. |

and yes, i can confirm that he plays a sting ray.
im not in love with the tone on "career suicide". im normally not one to criticize bill stevenson, but he couldve done better with the tone. the DI sound is obvious, and IMHO, disgusting.
ampeg 8x10 + sennheiser 421 + mediocre preamp = amazing bass sound. period.
but i sat down and learned the intro to "the horse" and it was just as fun as it was difficult. i love how at 1:20 of "jaws 3, people 0" he just takes off. and then follows the guitar line note for note.
definitely improved my quality of life after i was given this cd

No Brian on the record and its overall tone is way darker than "...Suicide". The guitar work is amazing on that record and the old bass player does some pretty interesting things as well.
But yeah, Bri does play stingrays, he cuts through the mix like no other and does some really interesting things on bass. Most notably the tap intro to "The Horse" and the ridiculous runs in "Jaws 3, people 0". Its very refreshing to see a band do creative, awesome things (everyone in AWS rules: singer, guitar, bass, drums are all great) and yet still at heart be a hardcore/punk band.
Great video of "The Horse" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8VH6FweV6A
