PM me if you find the issue.. I'llbe moving all of them out.

| | | | Isn't Will Lee on the very 1st issue of Bass Player (not counting the earlier "test issues" with Geddy Lee & "The Art Of Soloing").
IIRC, he's holding an old Jazz with a maple Valley Arts neck.

I subscribed to GP from 1972 through at least 1993, and never saw him on the cover. But he WAS on a very early BP mag, and that started before 1989. I'm thinking that's the cover you're recalling.

IIRC, he's holding an old Jazz with a maple Valley Arts neck. | I think Billy Sheehan (with a blue Yamaha signature model) was the first non-test issue cover. Will was the next one (I think, might have been the Technique issue) and he's holding the Sadowsky. That was early '90. (I have all my issues at home, right now I'm at work).

IIRC, he's holding an old Jazz with a maple Valley Arts neck. | Yes he is. I'm looking at the Fall 1990 issue right now.
EDIT: Actually Billy Sheehan was on the first official issue in Spring of 1990.

| | | | Right, Billy Sheehan was #1...Muzz Skillings is another early cover boy.
Just took a look-
1-Sheehan
2-Red Hot Equipment (No Cover Boy)
3-Will Lee
4-Jaco
5-Chops No Cover Boy)
6-Muzz Skillings
...would be nice if Bass Player's website had a archive of all the past issues.
