Chicago based blues bassist willie kent died today at 70 years of age.He led his own band called Willie kent and the Gents and over the years played Bass Little Walter,Muddy Waters,Junior Wells just to name a few. http://www.williekentblues.com/index.html
and on a sad side note the original dummer for the Jackson 5(Johnny Jackson no relation)was murdered Original Jasckson 5 drummer murdered

No,I knew Willie and was told by a mutual friend and the Jackson news is kind of local(with Chicago being so close to Gary,In) |

Im sorry for your loss, as well as the music communities. | It's kool,we're all musicians and most musicians like to share and news like this need to be known.Willie was a very nice,informative and very down to earth kat(and he really liked my grooves and somtimes would ask me about my approach to the pocket,which always caught me off gaurd,because I am no where near the pocket player he was).
