Wisconsin Bassists Club - Part Three (Now a Trilogy)

Butt heads a plenty on TB these days.

I wouldn't mind a kinder gentler place for bass folks to unite. Just haven't found it yet.

As far as the GTG, I'm in as long as I'm in town. I do travel heavily for work in spring, so that's the only hold up.

update;
I'm on praise team this Sunday for both services 9-11, pack up and home by 1:15ish grab some lunch and head to Shawano for a jam @ 3:00 home by 8:00 I hope, then on Monday it's a potluck jam with the Elk River Band, these are 3 guys I started playing with in grade school, and we played as semi pros from 1978 -1994 about 50 weeks a year. We still get together 3 or 4 times a year to jam and even played a gig 2 summers ago, and may do one next year??? and next week Thursday I'm at the Yoga Loft in Sheboygan from 7:15-8:30 with the Kirtan Band doing call and response chanting.
Not playing a gig on NYE, but playing alot and lovin it!

On another note, I'm playing NYE in a room that's new for us. I'm hoping that its cool as our last two NYE shows were insane ant Lakefront Brewery (they booked the room for a wedding reception this year so no rebook this time). This one came through one of the agencies we work with so we're going in blind but with hopeful and positive attitudes.

A few active members and I do the best we can to make it a good place for Wisconsin bassist to communicate and hook up.

Been a while so I thought I'd check in. I don't have much for news or new gear. Been working on some new projects. Nothing has taken off yet but its close.

My Fender P & Ampeg rig have been giving me the sound I've been searching for. Now that I have "my sound" I really haven't had the urge to try out anything new. It always feels like home when playing. I don't know how it could get much better than this.

Anyone else find their perfect combination that gives them complete satisfaction?

That is funny stuff! I love the boneheaded if "you play covers you are Satan" vs. the "well I make $750 a night playing the Brown Eyed Girl circuit" arguments. And you know the I only play originals cats likely have not gigged except at a friends back yard party that got shut down by cops....just haven't a clue but do have conviction.

well, i wont say perfect combination, but i have certainly been diggin my gibson thunderbird through my Ampeg SVT4pro w/215e cab and thats just my rehearsal rig. i gig with my SVT7pro and 810. i been seriously thinking about swapping my cabs out but the extra work involved keeps winning out.
