It would be worthwhile, especially because you're about the closest to a Tom Bowlus that WI has! At least in so far as having a myriad of gear over time.
And thanks on the bass. I've been searching for a bass like that for 30 years. Can't afford the high end boutique ones, so I just took everything that worked for me and redid what didn't!
I think that HPF is about the only thing I'm still gassing for. | It is a great little unit. For some rigs, it isn't needed (like the very mid present little Berg AE210 or the very controlled low end of the Markbass F500.
However for a big, wide open low end like the Thunderchild or the Berg AE212 ( or the fEARful's), or heads like the Glock for the Mesa M6/M9 that go ALL the way down to the sub bass, it is quite useful.
It is also very useful with my piezo loaded Rob Allen, that puts out a lot of subbass frequencies.
Hope to meet you sometime!

I'm running a Kustom 1200 head through a fEARful 15/6 and because it can get insanely loud and go so low, even with the very decent EQ of the Kustom head I'd like that HPF to keep the deep lows (like below 35Hz-40Hz) completely out of the system. I'm fine with a low E fundamental (or even the 2nd harmonic) and especially a second harmonic on the low B, but I tend to push my rig with some of the bands I play with (the loud rock cover bands) and it would be a good addition to have those lows really cut out of it completely.
Then again, I'd still have to be careful to not thermally damage the 3015LF at high volumes because there wouldn't be any sonic indicators of malfunction with the HPF.
Then again it would be nice to either get those guys in one of my bands to just turn down a bit (yeah, right) or just quit them as I'm working with 4 bands already. Gotta keep the money comin' in though.

The little FDeck III is just a bit over $100, very transparent (i.e., you don't even know it is there tonally when set to the lowest freq cut-off), and has a very nicely designed filter. It has a hard 12db cut-off at 35hz, and then a variable frequency control that goes up to 140 hz. When the variable control is set fully counterclockwise, you get a full 24db cut at 35hz (so, the classic hi pass sub bass elimination). As you turn it up, you get a 12db cut at 45hz or 60hz or whatever, and then the additional hard chop at 35hz (so kind of a combined hi pass and low end tone control).
Very nice for your application, and +1, with those 3015LF loaded boxes like my Audiokinesis and your fEARFul, you have be a bit more careful with big power, since the typical warning signs (compression and 'farting') don't happen as early as with other speakers.

Orange is a brand that I've always thought had really a great aesthetic to it. It really is a cool looking amp and cab, and the tone is incredible as well. The amp has a wonderful inherent (what I would describe as) "throatiness" to it, but is very smooth and organic. It's pretty much as simple as it gets - plug in your bass and salt and pepper to taste (mine being a slight boost in bass and treble and a slight cut in mids), and adjust gain to your liking. The 15 cab is really deep and punchy, and very tight in its response. You definitely feel the air it moves in the back of your legs.
Then you crank the gain, lay into your bass, and it's like a mini-dragon who grew up on a diet of dirty rock n roll and Pabst. I could only imagine putting this head on an 8x10 cab and destroying small cities....
Superb.

There were only a few choices available. Like Acoustic, Ampeg, Marshall and Orange being those choices.
Did the first three choices, some multiple times, over the years but, fwiw, this is the one that stayed the longest.
Someday it may be fun to arrange an A/B session between the AD200 & OR120 with their respective cabs.
And for the observent their are a few similarities between that bass in the Rocker photo above and the Brubaker NBS Xtreme 5 shown in an earlier post.

Definately a two grunt job, strong back and weak minds help, like the niece's boyfriends.
Sundogue:
The short lived reissue of Sir Paul's bass. This is the shaved horns, sanded matte finish, zero fret added with an upside down headstock so right handed players can look just like Paul. lol
Model designation was C64s, the "s" stood for shaved and sanded supposedly.

Cool looking bass though. So did you feel like Sir Paul playing it?

56.00 free shipping | I threw a Quarter-Pounder in my Squier Matt Freeman P. It sounded OK with the stock pickups but now it sounds SICK!! Huge improvement for little money.

Friday night we played at the Top Hat in Manitowoc. It was, uh, interesting to say the least. Saturday night we were at Jimmi's in Two Rivers. We didn't have a huge crowd for the whole night, but what we did have were a lot of fun. All in all, I played two really fun shows. In addition to the gigs, I got together with two former bandmates here in Oshkosh to discuss a new original project. The old bassist wants to play guitar, the old guitarist wants to play drums which leaves me right where I want to be at bass and vocals. No idea what we'll sound like yet, but our first jam session is next Sunday. I guess we'll find out then.
