Let's face it, female musicians are hot.
And yes, just like some guys, some woman bassists can play well.

Also, Aggressive Persuasion has a good female bassist. |

The second part of your post, which I have quoted above, may come off as a sexist question even though you are female, you may want to rephrase that. My first thought was why should my reaction be different towards any musician based on gender? Am I supposed to react differently when there is a female bassist?
Look, if you play bass and are passionate about it, I'm listening, no matter what. |

There's been alot of recent buzz about a young Australian Jazz bassist named Tal Wilkenfeld tearing it up, already gigging with cats like Hiram Bullock and Kenwood Dennard... check it out: http://www.talwilkenfeld.com/Tal.html Quote: |

You're right, if a bassist can play then who cares what the gender is. However, since I'm a heterosexual male, so of course it's even better if I think she's attractive. |

Kristin Korb and Jennifer York are two amazing bassists. |

Cindy from Fono.

| | | | Yep, we're all here We're here, upright and electric bassists here at TB. Young and a little older.
And, my best teachers past and present are female bassists: Kristin Korb and Carol Kaye. Both super accomplished players too! Really, yes, its different being a female bassist, mainly because others are aware that you are female. Playing bass is as normal as breathing to me, but, the bottom line is that musicianship has no gender. |

There are a lot more female bassists than I'd originally thought.
