I was watching the Church scene on The Blues Brothers when James Brown is singing. THe bass player there sounds like he's really cookin'. I wasnt sure who this bassist was and if anyone knows who it is? Or was it Duck Dunn that played it? Im pretty sure theres another bassist credited for it on the album. Ill have to look but that bassist looked prtetty cool . He was using both his thumb and two fingers on a darkish white (no pickguard) Fender Jazz. Just thought id say sumthing.

That's one of my favorite movies & I've always kind of wondered that too. I have no idea, but I always thought the playing style & sound sounded like Dunn to me. Regardless though I agree thats some smokin' bass playing.
