As far as tone goes.. IMO this is as good or better than the classic 70's J bass tone many people go for. I know he is playing his Fodera here, ash body/top, maple neck/fretboard. He uses DR Sunbeams and, correct me if I'm wrong, PASSIVE with custom wound Fodera Seymour Duncan pickups? I could be wrong and they may be Barts, but I read about the SDs in his bass before.
