They were a very good local band that did'nt get as big as they should have. Sorry to hear this news |

I've been a fan of Y&T since the late '80s, but only managed to catch them live for the first time about two or three years ago. They completely spoiled me on other bands of their vintage -- $20 cover and a THREE-HOUR show. I left there furious with Poison for charging what they do for the same tired 80 minutes every summer.
And to bring it back home, Phil just slayed at that show. Absoultely mesmerizing tone and stage presence. |

Saw Phil with the Band in May at the Filmore, great show. I just went to the New Years Benefit for him here in Santa Clara and you could feel the genuine love for this guy. Y&T has been an inspiration for us Bay Area Rockers for years. Phil will be dearly missed. He was a monster presence on stage and wrote a lot of Y&T's material. As Phil's schtick on stage was to curse out the audience in mock dismay (and the crowd would yell back F-You Phil) I've gotta say. F-You Cancer! |
