Man, I feel for you. That really sucks. I have seen Yes a couple times and they do an awesome job. Hopefully you will get another chance to see them.

Was the tour cancelled or the show? Why was it cancelled?

hey, YESworld doesn't have anything about a cancellation posted, and that's the "official" site. where did you hear about the cancellation of the tour?

Yes tour cancelled
Yes were planning a world tour, beginning with a North American leg in Jul/Aug 2008 and with further legs to follow 2009/10. The band were to consist of Anderson, Squire, Howe and White, with Oliver Wakeman (Starcastle, Clive Nolan, worked with Steve Howe, engineer on The Ultimate Yes), Rick's eldest son, "sitting in" on keys. (Management and the band also approached Trevor Rabin about joining the tour, but he is unavailable. See discussion below about both Wakemans and Rabin.) However, Anderson has been having major health problems with asthma, culminating in a very serious attack on 13 May that led to his hospitalisation (see discussion on Anderson's page). Anderson has been advised not to tour this summer on medical grounds and the Yes tour has been cancelled; an official announcement is expected imminently. The long-term implications of Anderson's condition are unclear, but may be significant. The band are considering options (and thought has been given to the possibility of touring with a replacement lead singer).

if Henry says so, it's in fact true - Henry is probably more reliable than YESworld.

i'm sure Jon will bounce back - "all in a matter of time...."

glad to see other YESheads here at TB

"thought" perhaps, but if any of the bandmembers actually uttered those thoughts they would instantly be keelhauled by Jon (aka Little Napoleon) regardless of his health!

the tour was scheduled to start very soon, and its kind of a bit late to make that kind of drastic change at this point...

Well, I hate that for you. I have listened to them since 75, and always found their musicianship to extraordinary. Perhaps Jon will be well enough in the future, but there has already been a lag of 3 or 4 years since his last bout. The doctors told him then to rest for an extended time.
I wouldn't mind Horn filling in and the Drama "album" (I am dating myself on that one) being done in its entirety, but that tour was a near fiasco for them. I do not think most fans ever really accepted Trevor Horn, but Drama turned out to be one of my favorites of all of them.
