has anyone ever noticed how chill almost every bassist is? like my old bass teacher and i would hardly every actually practice but just relax and he would just play what little guitar he knew with me laying down some bass and just talk ironicly this taught me more than anything else but seriously when i see g'tards get together its always a competition for speed and heaviness but when a few bassist get together they just instantly get along and bond together maybe im crazy but im just saying

Damn straight.

It also helps that we're not constantly trying to get each other's gigs, so there's plenty to go around.

Not to mention that our role as bassists is supportive by nature, and that usually translates into our personalities... OR our personalities draw us to pick up the instrument. Anyway, people with egos that big rarely make good bassists... or good people.
