Mean, everybody thinks just because a bass player plays simple root bass lines he`s crappy bass player?...
Example Mark in BLINK 182, everybody is picking on him? well u are ****ing stupid, Blink plays punk with one guitar only.
Which means that the bass line should be simple pumping as a ground.

If he started to play weird extreme bass lines it would just sound really weird.

In jazz and **** ,it is important that u dont just play some simple root notes, but i mean in most heavy metal songs the bass is just meant to pump the heavy low **** in the background.
Not be some crazy high, low, weird wooten style.
