You Think McCartney Wrote This?

Harrison taking on the bass duties on this one. Well, on guitar at least. It works. Nice melodic and rhythmic part. I wonder if he came up with it, or if Mac "suggested" it. Either way-- so musical.

If I understand correctly, that it is one of the few later songs that, if you can believe it, McCartney and Lennon collaborated on.

I believe that song is about Paul and Linda.

Nice bass playing by George on the Fender vi.

Opps it looks like he playing a telecaster ...

When I watch it the second time I think George may be pretending to play bass on his tele. Maybe Paul did the bass track in the studio for that song.

George played the bass line on a Telecaster. Check 2:40 into the video. That is clearly not a Bass VI!

yep, its clearly guitar, even though its playing a "bass part". And it sounds quirky enough to me to be George's idea

Ahh, Harrison's Rosewood Telecaster.

Sold for $450,000 in 2007.

That's my fav bass line on the "Let It Be" album.

George also wrote and played one of the catchiest bass lines : Maxwell's silver hammer.

I don't think that's quite right. I believe that bass line is all Paul.

How does anyone know if it was a J-bass?

I lean toward that assumption. I wasn't there so I'll leave off the "actually".

On Beatles' Rock Band, animated George is playing the Fender VI on Maxwell's Silver Hammer.

There the evidence.

Guitar -- a clear case of "noodle bass" by George.
