For that reason I'd choose Martin Mendez - bass player for Opeth, as I really love his style, it's subtle, fairly simple, yet musical.
Then again, I'd like to learn from Tony Levin or Ryan Martinie... but that would require a flexible band

Marcus Miller, Bootsy Collins, Larry Graham, Flea, Stu Hamm, Nathan East, Ryan Martinie, or Ben Kenney. But if it was a gun to my head, I'd say Flea because he would be the one most eager to teach you
