Youtube Bassists with Great Tone

Sign in to disble this ad
It's hard to find a good bass tone on Youtube, normally I find myself screaming at the monitor "PLAY MORE AGGRESSIVELY!" or "STOP SLAPPING EVERY NOTE!". But sometimes there are some bass covers that I keep coming back to, just to hear the bass tone again.

Has anyone found any bass players/covers on Youtube with awesome bass tones? (Not already famous bass players)

I'll add some of my favourite bass tones on Youtube, just to set an example:

7sloth YouTube - Mudvayne dig bass cover

Nobois YouTube - Yes Roundabout bass cover

Toolmybass YouTube - Tool Vicarious Bass Cover HD+Direct

Loubass09 YouTube - RHCP - Knock me down [Bass Cover]

zodiakironfist YouTube - Megadeth's "Peace Sells" on bass - LRRG

Sorry, not for me. Don't want to offend anyone but I didn't care for the tone or style of any of the players. I didn't think they were very good at playing either. I guess that's what makes music interesting. Everybody has their own idea of what thay like and are looking for in tone. If we were all the same, music would be very boring.

I think that was the idea. A guy just wanted to see some bass covers that other people like.

not that I were a great Level 42 fan to judge, but to me this guy sounds great no matter what he plays

The guy is a very good player. Don't care much for his style though.

I get saying you don't dig a sound or a style, we all have our preferences. But to say they were not good at playing? Are you nuts? The technique and chops required to pull off the song Dig are pretty taxing.

Care to post some of your playing? I would like to see what you consider 'good.'

Well, i'm glad no one said DavidSinRocks. Whilst i think he's good etc., he's "one trick pony" style somtimes bores me. I did the "blind test" and listened to the two dudes i listed underneath and both sounded better with the songs they played. DSR's rendition of Wake up was a bit aggressive and well... boring... Sorry!

This guy for Killing in the name: YouTube - ‪RATM - Killing in The Name of (bass cover)‬‏

This guy for Wake up - RATM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxJ5TLC-30E

This dude for Bust a move: YouTube - ‪Young MC - Bust A Move - Bass Cova !‬‏

And, this guy because he's versatile and knows how to get a sound out of a bass, regardless of the genre he plays: YouTube - ‪Refused - The shape of punk to come (BASS-COVER)‬‏

My tastes run more into smooth jazz. These three come to mind:
