Addison Farmer?

Couldn't find a thread about Addison Farmer here...he is definitely not as well known as he should be. He was killing on his twin's classic album, "Farmers Market" (with Elvin) as well as a bunch of other Prestige stuff.

He passed away at just 35. Does anybody know the circumstances?

I don't know how he died, but there's a funny story about when his brother, Art, was asked in an interview how he a his brother could tell themselves apart, Art said, "When I get up in the morning, I pick up the bass. If I can't play it, I must be Art."

He died from a brain aneurysm. He went to Julliard. The Art Farmer quartet record with Bill Evans is one of my favorites. There was a great public radio special on NPR about Art and during it he said to remarkable things: when Addison was dying Art was immediately aware of it though he was in downtown NYC and Addison was uptown and the other thing was that Art had never missed a day thinking about Addison after his death.

Oh, thanks for the info, msw. I'll have to see if that Art interview is still available somewhere.

As a twin myself , I got a kick out of Mike Goodbar's quote from Art.
