Anyone know what type of UB Willie Dixon used?

Just trying to find out if anyone knows what type of UB Willie Dixon used on all those old blues recordings? Thanks.

I have never seen a picture of Willy Dixon with anything but a King Moretone. He may well have used other instruments, but I've never seen him with anything else

Willie was playing a Kay M-1 back in the mid '70's when I saw him live in Santa Cruz. I've seen photos of him in Chess studios with the Kay. As a matter of fact, I've seen plenty of snapshots of him with different basses over the years. Awhile back someone was trying to sell a bass he claimed was Willie's King Moretone on ebay. I wonder what ever happened on that deal?

Probably the same bass that was sold on E-bay about a year ago. After considerable 'investigation' it appeared that the bass was authentic.

Thanks for the info. It's unbelievable that someone would put that bass on eBay. Wish I would have seen it (although I couldn't afford it).
