Carol Kaye (SP?)

Are you turkeys aware of the fact that this amazing woman did in fact provide the bass lines for so many groups in the sixties and seventies that you would probably be able to name a group at random, and you'd be right.

You know that group "The Beach Boys" that your Grandpappy listened to? Well, that was NOT Brian Wilson (the genius, HAH) on most of those tracks-it was Carol.

See if you guys can name the rest of the "Wrecking Crew."

SAW, out.

Yeah but who the heck was the rest of the wrecking crew?

I like her and think her contribution was huge - but still disappointed that she claimed credit for some of Jamerson's Tracks even after most of the people involved or that were present at the sessions refute her claims.

Having said that, everyone has their faults she still participated in a huge number of hit recordings - and given the time in which she stood toe to toe in a mostly Male world - says a lot about the type of talent and person she is. When I started playing back in the Ice Age I had one of her Method Books. She is one of the greats in the Lexicon of great bassists that have paved the way for all of us.
