I picked up Like a Dream by Darek Oleszkiewicz last weekend. Beautiful writing and playing from this Charlie Haden-inspired player!

His music is a treat for sure. Supple, gut-like (or gut) tone, sublime melodicism and timing and just a beautiful concept as a supporter, composer and soloist.

Darek was my first and best bass teacher. I studied with him for 3 years before moving to New York. He is simply one of the most melodically elegant bass players I have ever heard. He is a master at support as well.
