If you ever get a chance to hear and see Dennis Crouch play, by all means, do it! What a fine bassist!
We heard him last night with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss in Sta Barbara, playing double bass fingerpicking (what great techniques he has!) and bowing, with a pickup, through an Ampeg box (couldn't see the pre-amp/amp part very well). He worked so well with the drummer, and did a couple of trios with voice and drums, and one duet, just voice and bass - lovely).
