Arrow Dr. Stanley Clarke!

Should this be in DB or BG or both?

Today at UArts in Philly they had a huge ceremony for their new President, a guy straight from Harvard. In this event was also a tribute to Stanley Clarke who was given an Honorary Doctorate Degree.

Just prior to the presentation the UArts Ensemble 'Transfusion' joined by Bassist Gerald Veasley did a Bass duet for Stanley with the Ensemble's Bassist Jonathan Smith (my son) playing School Days! Gerald walked out wireless and up to Stanley where he sat with over 20 Cap 'n' Gowners and started that famous Bass intro. After the first chorus, Jonathan took over the classic Bass line and Gerald played the melody and a solo using just about every known lick Stanley's ever played on that song, up close and personal.

So, at the reception after the Concert and awards I walked up to Stanley and said "ahhh What's up Doc?" .. Lol.. (Actually, we go way way back together so I can get away with that.) He had asked my Son Jon to make sure I would be there. Stanley then said "Pretty soon I'll be writing Prescriptions!"

i think this is good to be celebrated in both forums. shoot, he's every bit as skilled on one instrument as he is on the other.
