I love watching Drew's left hand attack. This is the most electric-y I have heard his tone and it is still gorgeous. He never over plays and he never bores you, just solid all around.
Ravi continues to impress me with his direction and focus. Nice tunes, interesting ideas, beautiful playing, Puts together great ensembles, this being case in point.
thanks for the link. |

I think he represents the best of the two worlds, he has modern style and he has a good and big acoustic sound. |

Can play beautiful ballads. Can groove on the funky stuff. Can play avant stuff. Whatever. There are very few that are really good at all of them. Drew wins for me.
DURRL. For the record I didn't have a soul patch when I had long hair. The day I got it cut I got home and looked in the mirror and thought "I look like a fu**ing insurance salesman". The soul patch was born. Then came my desire to continue to look like Frank Zappa but that is a different story. |

I'd love to hear them ala Ornette, that is, lose the piano. |

Neither did I.

I've read about how great Drew is on this forum but I could never understand or enjoy his playing. This video did it for me though. I finally get it. I'm now listening to 7 Butterflies and really liking it.
