Ernst Gelerum

I found this guy in Amsterdam looking for someone new to study with while abroad. What does anyone know about him?

I have a record with him: "3" from Bennink/Borstlap/Glerum (Han Bennink - dr, Michiel Borstlap - p, Ernst Glerum - b). You can find some info on the here: http://www.bbgtrio.nl

It's really nice how these guys approach well known pieces like A-Train:

He is an incredible player. I have seen him several times with the ICP (Instant Composers Pool). His intonation is great and he is a good jazz player.

Jason,

I would definitely study with Ernst Glerum if the oppourtunity presented itself. Every time that I've seen him play live with the ICP or Available Jelly, I've thought him to be a really marvelous player. I don't know anything about his teaching, but I would guess that a man who has spent so much time driving the band along side Han Bennink would possess a unique take on jazz and improvisation. I'm pretty sure he's a gut player which might also be of some relevance to you... Be interested to hear how it turns out.

Aaron
