Gary Karr

I "met" Gary Karr briefly in 1995. He gave a fantastic recital. Since NO ONE has come anywhere near Bottesini's Sonnambula.
Question:
I have heard and seen now on wikipedia re: "On that famous telecast, Karr performed "The Swan" from Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns."

Really, I would like to hear it, but more so, to have been there. Perhaps I am being redundant with my request. But, real testimony is priceless.

Testify!

Gary Karr plays Sonnambula fantastically, but I prefer Duncan McTier's recording even more.

Even so, Gary is amazing. I'd love to see him play someday. Maybe I'll put in for KarrCamp one of these years.

You can hear Gary Karr play the Swan with the New York Philharmonic on their recording for CBS/Sony which is now located on one of the Bernstein Century series CDs with Leonard Bernstein narrating. Bernstein talks a little about Karr before he plays the piece in the recording. Here's a link to where you can buy it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Childrens-Clas...6006398&sr=8-1

As for the Bottesini, the two recordings I like of the piece are with Božo Paradžik and Duncan McTier.
